Nude Beach Overview
Playa de Sotavento sits on Fuerteventura's southeastern coast. The beach stretches for kilometers, backed by sand dunes and shallow lagoons. Strong winds blow across the area most days, drawing windsurfers and kitesurfers.
The nude section occupies the northern part of the beach. Visitors walk about 20 minutes from the main parking area to reach it. The distance keeps crowds thin.
White sand extends to turquoise water. The beach slopes gradually into the ocean. At low tide, sandbars form offshore, creating pools of calm water. At high tide, waves roll in directly.
Facilities are sparse. No restaurants or beach bars operate in the nude area. Visitors bring their own supplies. The nearest shops are in Costa Calma, 5 kilometers away.
Wind provides natural ventilation but can blow sand. Sunbathers position themselves behind dunes for shelter. The beach faces southeast, catching morning and midday sun.
