Nude Beach Overview
Praia dos Alteirinhos sits on Portugal's Costa Vicentina, 3 km north of Zambujeira do Mar. You reach it via a steep dirt path that descends 80 meters to the sand.
The beach spans 200 meters of golden sand between dark rock formations. Atlantic waves roll in consistently. Cliffs provide wind shelter on the northern end.
Nudism occurs naturally here. Most visitors shed clothing upon arrival. No designated zones exist—the entire beach welcomes nude sunbathing. Families, couples, and solo travelers mix comfortably without textile/naturist separation.
Water temperature stays around 16-18°C. Currents run strong. Rocks create tidal pools at low tide.
No facilities exist on-site. Visitors pack in supplies and pack out trash. The nearest restaurants and shops operate in Zambujeira do Mar.
Parking fills quickly in summer. Arrive before 10 AM or after 4 PM. The beach faces west, delivering direct afternoon sun and sunset views over the ocean.
