How to get there

By public transport: From the center of Mar del Plata, you can take local bus lines 221 or 511 heading towards the southern beaches. The journey to Playa la Escondida takes about 40–50 minutes, depending on traffic.

Ask the driver to let you off at the stop closest to Playa la Escondida, which is near the entrance to the private beach area. From the bus stop, it’s a short walk down a marked path to the beach. Bus tickets can be purchased with a SUBE card.

By car or taxi: Drive south from downtown Mar del Plata along Route 11 (Ruta Provincial 11) following signs for “Playas del Sur.”

After approximately 15 kilometers, look for the entrance to Playa la Escondida on your left, just past the well-known beach clubs in the area. The drive takes about 20–30 minutes. There is private parking available at the beach for a fee.

By foot: Walking from the city center to Playa la Escondida is not recommended due to the distance (over 15 kilometers) and lack of pedestrian-friendly routes.

However, if you are staying at a nearby southern beach resort or accommodation, you can reach Playa la Escondida on foot by following the beach or coastal paths. The area is well signposted, and the walk offers scenic views of the coastline.
